Extra Help

What wonderful, amazing students I have to work with this year.  There is so much to learn and they are doing great!  Some of the students are struggling with number and shape recognition.  I have added some math links on the right to assist them through fun learning games.  Some of the sites also have tips to assist parents in reinforcing what we learn at school.  Check out these games and let me know what you think.  If you find others that work well for your child, let me know so we can all try them.  Please also to remember to practice the sight words.  These are vital for success in reading.

Next week, we will be doing an All About Me activity.  Please start talking to your kids about what they think makes them special and what they like to do.  We will have  several activities in which they can share what makes them great. 

On a side note, if you notice your child is struggling with something we are learning, please let me know.  I don't want any child frustrated with learning when we can help.  Thank you for all your support.

We are off to a wonderful start this year.  We are working on recognizing our letters and their sounds.  Please use the links to the right for a fun way to help your child become familiar with letters and sounds.  All students should have a list of sight words to work on.  Please take just a few minutes a day to help them with these words.  Sight words are difficult to sound out and can make reading frustrating.  Learning these words really helps the kids move forward with their reading abilities.  I am also posting the words here in case they get lost.  Also, please use your child's planner for communication.  You can write a quick note to let know if they need anything, or if their transportation has changed.  There is also a place in the planners to excuse them if they are absent.  As always, feel free to email or call with questions.  Thank you for your support, your children and I both appreciate it.
